Changes in our lifestyle until the end of Sri Lanka’s inflationary situation

The main problem here is the lack of foreign exchange. Due to this deficiency, we mainly face a shortage of fuel (transportation difficulties, electricity generation difficulties), medicines, and shortage of agricultural materials (fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides – shortage of food). The above facts lead to inflation (depreciation of money, rise in prices of goods), increase in government taxes, increase in the cost of living, business collapse, loss of jobs and increase in crime/theft.

Short-term solutions;

  1. Make only essential journeys and use public transport for that too
  2. Find alternatives for times of no electricity and cooking gas (if cooking with electricity, do it when electricity is available)
  3. Limit consumption to essentials
  4. Excess storage (even water) if possible
  5. Doing the job honestly and diligently
  6. Not possessing anything of value (mortgaging or depositing the gold in possession for a small amount if it is not possible to deposit it in a bank safe)
  7. Take care of personal health
  8. Stay up to date on security
  9. Never borrow money or anything

Medium-term solutions;

  1. Cultivate or assist in cultivation wherever possible
  2. Engaging in little or money-earning activities in addition to the job

Long-term solutions;

  1. Educating the children so that they get an opportunity to study/work abroad as soon as possible
