This is a tale of a youth who was raised in a rural village but was taken to a town for his education. He was taken to the village after 3 days of his birth and for another 8 years he lived in the village, but then he was taken to the town for his education. He continued living in the town till the CoVID-19 pandemic broke out, then he was able to freely go back to his home village.
Due to the pandemic, he was forced to keep to the borders of the village. The youth was however, enchanted with the thought of going back to his home village, as there he had many memories of his more youthful years and it was as, if the rural village was constantly calling for him, such as the song Country roads stated “I hear her voice in the morning hour she calls me.” Therefore, he was delighted with the prospect of returning.

Our tale begins, as the youth is brought back to his home village. The initial reaction of the youth is pure bliss as he feels that he can leisurely spend his time in his birth place also it was quite nostalgic as, John Denver refers, “All memoires gather round her” as the memories of the youth’s past is also orbiting his birthplace. However, as time flows on like a slow and steady river, the youth is brought feels the tendrils of boredom choking him and feels the unstoppable passage of time flow by him while he dawdles.
After, the youth is pushed beyond his limits he gains the idea of exploring, this so-called “majestic” village. So he got on his trusty stead and drove away. Having no route or plan, traveling about on his whims and wishes. What the youth found about the village was no simple majestic nature but a breath-taking and awe inspiring views of ancient mountains and calm rivers and reflective paddy fields. The beauty of the village reflected the quote “God made the country. Man made the town” as the village was directly made by mother nature such that her raw, powerful and beautiful nature is shown in the countryside while the town fits more to man with less dangers and more comforts as we have made it to fit out vision of perfect. As he pursued on, he found the village folk gathering around in small communities and discussing important topics such as agriculture and other topics. The village in his eyes, looked like the pinnacle of interaction of man and nature which was untouched by modern time and so remained ancient and clean with the same glory it had during the time of the past kings, it was true to the description of John Denver as he described it as “Life is old there”. Thus the youth continued on his escapades in exploring his ancient and beautiful village.
The youth, on his many travels, gradually began to speak with the village folk. Thus he began to get ideas of what he could do in his free time with the prosperous gifts offered by mother nature to him. The village folk gave the youth many ideas ranging from self-labor to leasing the land to another. Thus, the youth began his work in manual labor, supported by his family the youth was able to initialize an investment that would grant him riches in the future.

During the youth’s time in the village he was able to discern the different characteristics from the modern town to the rural village. Mainly being that rural villages have a more peaceful and calm life compared to the hustle and bustle of a town. Moreover, a modern day town would have easier access to needs and wants when compared with a rural village, as in a village the people must get the resources directly from mother nature herself compared to a townsman who pays another to do it for them. The youth also discovered that he would be blissful living in a village, as one said that “Shaded with trees and leaves like a piggy bank filled with memories. You’ll see why a person would want to live there forever” as living in a village would be similar to living in a blissful memory. Through his discerning thoughts the youth found that both the village and town are needed for a man to have a fulfilling life, as one cannot just be hardworking and peaceful in a village he must also be able to face the terrors of a town and live comfortably in a town as well in order for him to live in a village more peacefully. As, if the man did not know the difference between the town and the village he would not know the true definition of peaceful or calm nor would he be able to appreciate the blinding beauty of a rural village. He found that, referring to John Denver, it was the ‘Place he belonged”.
Our tale ends here for now, till we meet again to talk about this growing youth.
